About us The objective of the European Security Foundation is to foster the development of a Common European Foreign and Security Policy based on the values and interests of the European Union. The Foundation is committed to the broad concept of security laid down in the European Security Strategy. This includes crisis management, protection of the outside borders and critical infrastructures of the European Union, security of energy supply, autonomous access to space, management of natural disasters and mission of armed forces under the command of the European Union. The foundation will start a public debate on these matters including the European Parliament and the Parliaments of the Member States, the other Institutions of the European Union, academia, industry and the media. It will foster an intensive cooperation between the Parliaments in order to build an effective structure for parliamentary scrutiny of the European Security and Defence Policy.
